I forgot my PIN.

On the lock screen, choose the forgotten-PIN option and enter your recovery code (the code shown when you set up the App). You can then set a new PIN.

I lost my recovery code. Can you recover my photos?

Honest answer: no. If you have neither your PIN nor your recovery code, the vault cannot be decrypted by anyone — including us. That is what keeps it private. If you still know your PIN, your photos are fine — make sure backups are on, and export anything important as an extra copy.

I got a new phone. How do I move my photos?

Install Pictansu on the new phone, choose to restore from a backup, connect the same Google Drive or iCloud Drive, and enter your recovery code. This works between iPhone and Android too. Make sure your last backup finished on the old phone first.

How do I export my photos?

Select the photos or albums you want and choose Export. They are decrypted and saved back to your phone's photo library or shared as files. Export is always free, even on the free tier.

Is anything sent to you?

Your photos, never. They are encrypted on your device and backups go only to your own cloud. We run no server, so nothing comes to us directly. Two outside services are involved. RevenueCat (our purchase-verification service) starts when the App launches and receives a random ID, your purchase history if any, and technical device details, including Apple's identifier for vendor on iPhone and iPad. Google handles your sign-in, only if you choose Google Drive backup. RevenueCat gets no name or email, and there is no tracking. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.

How do I get a refund?

Purchases are handled by Apple or Google, so refunds are too. On iPhone, go to reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android, open Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & history, or see Google Play's refund page.

How do I delete all my data?

See Data deletion.
