Encrypted on your device
Photos, videos and their details (names, albums, dates) are encrypted on your phone with XChaCha20-Poly1305. Your key is locked with your PIN and recovery code through Argon2id, and it only leaves the device in encrypted form, inside your own backups. We never see your photos.

Backups in your own cloud
Encrypted backups go to your Google Drive or iCloud Drive in an open, documented format. Contents are encrypted before upload; your cloud can see only the backup date, device type, item counts and file sizes. Switch phones — even iPhone to Android — and bring everything with you.

What we can't do
We can't see your photos, we can't reset your PIN, and we can't lock you out of your own backups. That is the point.
